Well, remember last month, my eighteenth birthday party, and my Grandma Phyllis came? I’ve always been cool with her—it’s not her fault what her son did to me and my mom, and I actually like having an extra grandmother, especially since my dad’s father died of cancer right before he married my mom. And I feel bad for her, the way her son ran off just like her husband before him. I’m all she’s got, right? She can be uptight but she’s basically good to me. I wish she would stop nagging me about going to church though. Ain’t happening, no way no how. Other than that though, she’s cool.
